Road Notes: Day 189

Today was a pretty relaxed day. We read, worked on some writing/editing, and cleaned up a bit. Having spent most of the day in the camper, we really needed to get out and get some exercise. So we took our bikes over to the Rio Grande gorge. There is a well paved, relatively flat road nearby that was recommended to us by the guys over at Taos Cyclery. We parked, unloaded our bikes, and started off only to realize there were two herds of big horn sheep in the road. They were not afraid of humans and genuinely did not care about us. I got really excited and took some videos. Then started wondering…these guys aren’t violent, right? I mean, they have to use those horns for something. They continued to graze, not even noticing our existence and hardly moved out of the road as we passed by. We are leaving New Mexico soon, and boy am I going to miss moments like these.
Road Notes are timed entries—written in thirty minutes or less at the end of each day. Considerations are made for spelling/legibility but not for grammar. Deal with it.
